A lesson plan can be described as a guide that the teacher will use on what to teach every day. The primary objective of a lesson plan is to help teachers be effective and meet their obligations in class. Therefore, a perfect lesson plan should enhance creativity, and it should arouse learners’ curiosity to ask questions. Lesson plans should always be objective and reflective since it is the only way to merge learning gaps.

Thoroughness
Firstly, the lesson plan is well structured, although it has few elements that require focus and adjustments. The lesson focus for the class is to engage in reading and evaluating texts in Charlotte’s web book. The COE lesson plan is not thorough; for example, it does not highlight demographics and environmental factors in the classroom. In this case, the lesson plan does not identify the number of ELLs in the classroom; hence it will be challenging to prepare a class profile. Every student is unique, and some learners have special gifts while others have difficulty learning and grasping content. In such a scenario, it is vital to evaluate learners by gifts they hold. For example, proficient and slow learners should be grouped, learners with special needs also need to be identified (James, 2019).
State learning standards are met throughout the lesson plan. Some of the standards include the use of illustrations to demonstrating understanding amongst students. It is a fruitful technique that ensures every student is aligned as per the objectives of the lesson. The lesson is objective; it is focused on the audience (which is grade 4), it is vital to analyze the audience before developing a lesson plan.
Alignment
As far as objectives are concerned, alignment is crucial since it connects the goals of that lesson with activities and assessment. Alignment helps teachers to stick to the learning goals highlighted in the coursework. The lesson is aligned with English coursework; however, it needs some adjustments. Firstly, the lesson plan does not demonstrate the connection between the teacher’s activities and assessments. Essentially, after every learning objective, it is vital to introduce an activity that is aligned with the lesson. In this lesson plan, the teacher introduces the activity for the lesson but no assessment at all. The objective of the assessment is to gauge whether learners understand the lesson comprehensively. The teacher can revise the lesson by adding short and simple assessment tests in the plan (James, 2019).
Moreover, there are no multiple engagements throughout the lesson plan. Multiple arrangements involve student interaction with the subject, and it is different from activities. Sometimes it might be confusing, but there is a way to navigate it; for example, you can ask the students to fill in vocabulary worksheets and then combine them with learning activities (James, 2019).
