Expected Learning Outcomes
Students understand the behavior of individuals, differences and similarities in social and cultural contexts of human existence, and the processes by which groups function.
Overview:
In this writing task, you will be asked to critically evaluate elements of The Shallows, a book that you have been working through in past weeks. You are asked to briefly overview three points from this book, which might take the form of an overall chapter or a very specific argument made during one. The only requirement in terms of the content of these observations is as follows:
At least one of the three points you discuss must be something that you agreed with, describing what about the element/item you found agreeable.
At least one of the three points you discuss must be something that you disagreed with, describing what you thought was wrong with that element/item or how you think differently
The third item can be a point of agreement or disagreement.
This task will require you to both overview the point, and discuss your thoughts about it, which will require some level of thought. Again, the word limit is smaller, so you will need to be succinct in your explanations and observations.
There is no new APA requirement this week. but you will be required to refer to the source that you are talking about. This will require in-line citations which include page number references. Use the guidance in the APA Style Hub to confirm what you need to do here.
