Star Wars created many childhood memories for many young adults today. Star Wars included several aspects of a good film. Yet, it included only one factor that has never been seen before. Star Wars brought to life what many have always imagined being life beyond earth. Destructive aliens and robots created a futuristic theme that many children admired. It is a fact that after its introduction, Star Wars garnered a massive fanbase in children. However, the themes and motifs of the film could not be understood by this age group. Children are only capable of understanding the surface meaning of various works of art.
For a three-year-old, Star Wars could be exciting but not suitable. One of the reasons why the movie might not be ideal for a child of this age is complex themes. As stated, a child is only capable of understanding the surface meaning. In a franchise such as Star Wars, the child can follow the story ardently but still miss many strong motifs. In this case, the child ends up misinterpreting the movie. The problem with misinterpretation at a young age is that it can lead children to borrow from what they watch. In turn, this affects their general behavior as they grow. If the child ends up watching the film again as a young adult, they might begin to identify its true meaning. Still, this may create conflict, which might end up confusing a young person’s mind.
