Essay Instructions:

For this exercise, students will be broken up into small groups and collaboratively produce an original piece of media based on one of the following categories:
a) a mashup of existing media that provides some critical commentary about media
b) an experimental collage using originally produced images and/or sounds
c) a combination of a & b
In addition to the completed group project, each individual student should write a 1-page reflection paper (worth 5 points). In this reflection, you should be able to identify how your project expressively uses the medium in a way that cannot be accomplished with other media. You should also reflect more generally on the process of collaborative media creation. This exercise should be uploaded to YouTube (or other online hosting sites) with the link submitted on the assignment page in Moodle along with a file upload of your reflection. This exercise will be graded qualitatively out of 15 points.
