Several digital products are used by media today. These products include but are not limited to music, photography, research and data, website pages, and electronic books (e-books) (Guess et al., 2020). Media and digital products have had a substantial influence on culture and society. Digital media has made progress including innovations in areas such as journalism, education, and entertainment. The essay will analyze how to research and data as a current digital product can be improved. It will also reflect on how the improvement can/will affect the future of the communication field.
An Analysis of how Research and Data Could be Improved
The goal of progressive digital media is to ensure that research is managed and overseen by responsible individuals. It should also target journalists who are credible and dedicated to several publications throughout the world. One way of improving research is by increasing its impact, by making sure it is targeting and positively affecting the right people (Wyatt, 2021). When research and data impact the right people, they will have gained and achieved their purpose to solve or correct the state of issues affecting society. A second way of improving research in digital media is by ensuring it advocates for a change in practice and unworthy policies (Kaeophanuek et al., 2018). Therefore, media researchers are challenged to acquire credible and current research that will act as a lee-way towards policy change. Research could also be improved through articulate and comprehensive funding. Funding has been termed as a motivator for well-thought-of and much-needed media research (Wyatt, 2021). Acknowledging a researcher’s achievements could also improve research and data processes. Boosting media researchers' reputations could strengthen their ability and opportunities for improved research.
