The understanding of ones’ culture has a direct implication to almost every aspect of life in regards to interaction with others. The exchange of information and meaning by people of varying cultures, be it as a result of differences in gender, race, ethnicity, or even sexuality, constitutes cross-cultural communication (Kreuz et al., 2017). Language differences or preconceptions associated with specific cultures can lead to miscommunication in interpersonal communication, thus inhibiting the development of interpersonal relationships. Chinese and Latina cultures are extremely contrary to each other, and the language barrier alone can be a hindrance to communication between the people from the two cultures.
