Introduction: Immigration is one of the most historical world problems facing most countries in the world. Migration is best described in two ways: legal and illegal. Legal migration is when a government gives the green light to an individual after clearing his or her documents to settle in a foreign nation. Illegal immigration is amazingly, during this century these problem is still a stumbling block.
Graber, D. A. (2006). Back in the late nineteenth century, was the beginning of this problem, back in 1875; a federal law came in place by which the state that prohibited the entry of convicted criminals and prostitutes. By 1882, President Chester banned nearly all Chinese immigrants to the United States. Some of the things he did were barring paupers and the mentally ill from entering the country. In return the decision affected a small percentage of immigrants. Hence the terms: legal and illegal immigration. Before this, immigration was barely regulated.
From the year 1881 to 1920, Lai, (2012) about twenty million immigrants flooded into the United States, Coming from almost every continent. In the year 1921, the Congress passed a Law that brought down the immigration number to approximately 357,000 a year hence reduced the number of immigrants drastically from country to country. Between the 17th and 18th centuries, most foreigners migrated to the United States to obtain better political and religious freedom due to the harsh conditions of their country.
Government political migration includes efforts by governmental entities to relocate people to geographic regions that are favored by a government. The motivation and decision for such relocations come from mostly internal political pressures, and these migrations are believed to relieve the causes of those pressures. From a political point of view, the goals may include: enhancing and establishing power in a disputed geographical area or territory, promoting economic development and relieving urban livelihood pressures.
The United Sates Media has hindered the effective policy making on immigration for decades. President Obama announced in November 2014 that all the Illegal migrants would face deportation in the United States. This decision has revolted to mixed reactions publically leading to Mr. Rush Limbaugh to challenge the president's executive order. He claimed it was unconstitutional.
Since then this news have been on the media hence creating tension for related parties, this negative portrayal has been an ongoing evolution in the media industry.
