1st: how disinformation online has lead to a decrease in credibility among news outlets
how social media has been used as a medium to spread false content and the implications it has on credibility
Technical factors that may make something be perceived as more or less credible
The devastating impact that a perceived lack of credibility has have on the real world
The importance of and potential ways to boost credibility online.
2nd: 1. I was profoundly impacted by the Taco Bell story and the Digital Divide. So, perhaps, a topic exploring the impact of COVID on school children's learning- not just disadvantaged but all children. Or how COVID brought these issues to light and how technology can increase learning for all children. (I have three elementary school children, so education is paramount in our home-we're in the thick of it and it's contantly top of mind! )
2. how digital effects impact the med tech industry from a marketing perspective. Communications is highly regulated as medical devices/pharma cannot be marketed "off label". Social media is a huge influence and how can industry control the message in a highly regulated field? This is my wheelhouse, so relevant research is always interesting and beneficial to my practice.
3. Teens and social media pressure. Research TikTok, Instagram, other platforms influencing children and teen's self esteem and self-image. Does it have profound effects on future life performance, perspectives on reality. how does Gen Z, Y compare to prior generations?
3rd:Is digital detoxing on the rise? If so, what are the implications for communication practitioners who rely heavily on digital media for their work?
