In the current generation, the manner of communication, in most cases, affect individuals psychologically. When the mood is directly affected, then the effect is seen in the behavior and thinking. If information from the media affects one’s mood regarding anxiety, fear, disgust, anger, or sadness, then an individual might entirely depend on that experience and react and interpret events in their lives. Recalling information from past news is connected with how an individual worries about events occurring in their life. The United States demanding China shut its Houston consulate within seventy-two hours triggered Chinese threats of retaliation as president Trump campaigned against Beijing in the election run-up. This could have as well hurt readers who might be worried about the relationship between the two nations.
Communicating within seventy-two hours of shutting down Houston consulate was lousy news to the Chinese government. Negative news has to be filtered before being released to the receiver. Negative sensationalism has dramatically increased over the past thirty years as people believed. Negative news tends to cause emotions and affect reactions and attitudes towards an event in life. The broken relationship between the two nations is evident (Nicole, Vivian & Kylie, 2020).
