The media fallacy of begging the question refers to an informal circular reasoning. An individual tries to convince people to believe in something but they do not give the apparent reasons why they should believe in it CITATION Kir12 \l 1033 (Kirchik, 2012). It arises in the media in various forms especially in the advertisements and arguments of a certain writer in print media or video or podcasts. Such arguments do not sound very logic and therefore many questions may arise about what someone is saying.
Of course the drink gives a refreshing feeling, but why? Because it’s made better.
In this case, a commercial of a soft drink appears on the television. The salesperson then tells the people watching to close their eyes and breathe in for one second. The person then tells the people who are watching that the soft drink gives a refreshing feeling when you drink it. The commercial goes further to encourage the people that they should be consuming the soft drink at all times since it bests better and it is made in a better way. At the end, the commercial would have not communicated logic CITATION And14 \l 1033 (Kiersz, 2014). They are simply telling the people to use the soft drink without giving the reasons for the same. It would have sounded logic if the commercial had explained a certain feature that makes the brand of the soft drink to stand out among the others CITATION Kir12 \l 1033 (Kirchik, 2012). This will encourage the people to consume the soft drink since they are assured of getting the qualities that have been described.
Of course a newly invented tractor is better than the others, but why? Of course other newly invented products are better.
A commercial about a new brand of tractor explains that the new brand of tractor has reinvented. The commercial then goes further to explain the other items like watches, cars, cooking items which would have been reinvented as well. The commercial then explains the ways in which the examples above have been reinvented. At the end, the commercial informs the people that the new brand of tractor is available to all the people who may need it.
