Digital society: How Activists use Social Media Platforms to fight Racial Injustices
Racial injustice has a broad history in America, and the persistence and fight for equal human rights for everyone has existed for decades. There is great power in using the internet, and to fight social injustices in American society, I will use internet media. The internet is a great weapon, and it is accessible to everyone despite the location (Oosterlaken, 2012). For instance, after Floyd's death, most people were mobilized by using social media platforms. Social media such as Facebook and Twitter will help deliver the message to the community effectively. Internet is a vehicle aligned with community informatics, and it will help deliver the message to everyone. National Black Justice Coalition is one of the influential activist groups in America vibrant regarding social injustices (Nast, 2015). Mostly, they use the internet to mobilize and pass their agenda to the community.
Facebook has been the primary vehicle to mobilize the people and call for justice for ethnic groups. Many things have changed since the days of Martin Luther Junior (Ovide, 2020). As demonstrations call an end to social injustices, social media provides the best platform to air grievances. Mainly, I will target the young people since they are vigorous and have the energy to run the word to the streets. Secondly, young people have internet access every minute. Finally, the media and agenda will be driven to all the communities despite color and race. The goal is to make known all the dangers of racial injustice to the community.
