When you think of a company that provides excellent customer service, you will likely find a consistent and professional approach that is used across all customer interactions - whether it be a phone call,an emailor even an advertisement . It might include things like: a repeated tag­ line or greeting, a consistent colour-scheme and logo,always prompt service,always friendly service, etc.

As you start to build your own personal,professional image, this assignment will have you reflect on both good and bad customer service you have received or experienced in the past.

In the workplace,you may need to write positive OR negative emails to others and it's  important that you take a consistent approach to formatting,BUT... use professionallanguage that is tailored to your message and audience. Writing an emailto praise an employee who's done a great job is quite different from writing an emailto a client to deliver the bad news that their project is behind schedule!

There are 4 parts to this assignment:

  1. Positive Customer Experience - detailed reflection

 For this first part,you will simply be recountingyour positive experience, as if you are  having a conversation with someone and tellinga story about what happened. Think of a time where you received or experienced excellent customer service from a company. Write down as many details that you can remember. This section should be approximately 500 words.

  1. Positive Feedback Draft Email

Now take what you've written in Part 1and use the parts that you think are necessary to craft an emailyou could send to the company that talks about your positive experience. This part should be structured like an actual email that you are goingto send, so don't  forget the key components of an emailand use the tips and guidelines we discussed in class to make your message effective. Remember to be clear about the objective of your email!

One of the most excellent customer services I have received was from a company that deals with adventure and accommodation. When I sought their services, I had had three work-intensive weeks and needed somewhere to relax and have some winding down experience. At the suggestion of a friend, I decided to try the company. Several things made me conclude that it must be one of the companies with the best customer service ever.
First, after arriving at their premises, I was ushered by the security at the gate to the reception. The receptionist was so welcoming. I was offered a drink at the reception before being comprehensively addressed. At the reception, I was informed of all the available accommodation packages and the adventurous activities I could engage in during my stay. After the information session, I decided on the package that was most suitable for me. Soon after, I was assigned a tour guard to show me around and take me to the place I would be staying. I was also taken around the key areas, such as the swimming pool, the various food/ eatery points, and the gymnasium. The welcoming sessions made me feel so comfortable. I did not have to be stranded at any point because the tour guide showed me all I needed to be comfortable.
Additionally, the room service showed great concern for my well-being. For example, they ensured to ask if I had any food allergies to ensure that the food delivered to me was the most appropriate. Their accommodations rooms were also super clean, and the ambiance was relaxed. Help was also at the beck and call. If I needed anything to be more comfortable, I could just call from my room, and I would be addressed within the twinkling of an eye. The attendants were also professional and left nothing to chance to ensure that my stay at their premises was nothing short of the best. To make matters better, when it was my time to leave, I was thanked for choosing the company and encouraged to visit again. As if the words were not enough, I was offered a voucher to grant me a ten percent discount the next time I visited the hotel.
