Overview: This project aims at exploring ways you, as an individual, and companies can have a positive social impact in the world. In the class, we talked about how corporations have the ability and capability to tackle the big (social) problems we face in the world today. We also emphasized that the highest impact is possible through collaboration - when companies work collaboratively and interactively with all their stakeholders. As such, each of us also has the potential and the responsibility to have a positive impact.
With this purpose in mind, review the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Identify one goal that you find the most interesting and would like to work on.
Deliverable: 1 page report. Use complete sentences, not bullet points.
Paper Content and Format (30 points total):
Choose one of the goals (https://www(dot)qlobalqoals(dot)orq/) you find the most interesting and answer the following questions. Make sure to have an appropriate heading for each.
• Which goal did you choose and why? What about this goal interests you? (personal opinion)
• Describe some key aspects of the goal.• What actions can you take towards this goal? Give specific actions (at least 3) and explain how they can contribute to goal achievement.
• What can companies do to support this goal? Make sure to give specific actions (at least 2) and explain why these actions would contribute to goal achievement while creating a competitive advantage for the company (think creating shared value). As a future employee, how can you make a difference in your organization to initiate action to support this goal?
• Give at least one example of a company who has taken initiatives towards this goal. Explain how the initiative(s) create shared value: both for the company and the society.
