Social media policy provides guidelines for employees that post content on the internet either as part of their job or as a private person (Iannacci et al., 2021). The social media issue at Tim's coffee shoppe can be handled depending on the policy in place regarding their social media policy. Organizations have different social media policies to help them run their services. Some organizations allow social media posting such information for advertising to be competitive (Auer, 2018). Hence, Tim should refer to the shoppe's social media policy to ensure he takes the right action. Using the shoppe's social media policy, Tim should restrict the employee from using mobile phones while at work to ensure such actions do not reoccur in the future.
