I agree with you that the compensation for Amazon is quite attractive. In particular, I found the in-person meeting quite attractive because I think it can make someone feel included and part and parcel of the company. You feel like the company actually cares for you and can listen to your issues as you respond. Given this and other benefits, I think Amazon is a company I’m looking forward to working for.
Response to  Thank you for your questions. I think the intrinsic rewards for the benefits provided by the company are the feelings of satisfaction and happiness. I think when employees find meaning in the work they do, partly because the company has made the work environment worthwhile, there lies the intrinsic reward. About measurements, I have learned about work engagement profile (WEP) that is used to measure intrinsic rewards including competence, choice, meaningfulness, and progress (Psychometrics, n.d.). For Amazon, it is not explicitly described but its Connections feedback system generates over 500,000 daily responses from employees.
