The product positioning is the ways in which the manufacturer uses in reaching the potential customers for his goods. For the better positioning of shoes in the market several factors should be considered which include, customer’s needs, competition, channels of distribution, advertisement and location, quality, price among others. The owner should therefore use some of these strategies in creating a good product position for its products especially shoes (Kotler et al.,2015)
In finding the best positions for shoes segmentation should be done in order to find the best target customers for the product. An analysis should be done to find the potential customers of shoes in the market. Understanding the constituents of the market for shoes is one of the key aspects in making a breakthrough in reaching customers. The manufacturer should then understand the demographics like age, sex, preference social class and education in finding the best position for shoes. The close analysis into the demographics of the business can boast the positioning of the business to a large margin. Therefore, for the better sale and positioning of shoe business demographics should be taken into consideration (Rosenbloom,2012). 
The product positioning of shoes can be done better by a greater emphasis on the quality. The manufacturer of shoes should produce the best quality shoes by engaging the use of innovation and creativity. Quality shoes are mostly preferred by the customers since they can last longer. Production of quality goods will create high demand for the customers hence it will be possible to position the product to the market easily. This can act as a good strategy and can be used a good competitive advantage over other rivals.
The cost of manufacturing is crucial in positioning of shoes to the market. The shoe manufacturing company should therefore seek to find the cheap source of material for its products. Producing shoes cheaply will definitely result to the possible price cut for the product (d'Aveni, 2010). Selling shoes cheaply will lead to the faster positioning to the market because demand will be created faster because they will be affordable compared to those of other manufacturers. Therefore, affordable pricing can be used as a competitive strategy in positioning of the product.
The shoes manufacturing industry should ensure that location of the business is well chosen. The manufacturing plant should be placed in a strategic place where it will easily be accessible by customers.
