For most companies that have reached the multinational corporation status, they are under immense pressure to ensure that they perform as per the expectation of the developing countries where they set up shop. This is mostly the case especially given the bad image the MNCs have been accorded in the past, relative to their origin. Apple Inc. is one of the multinationals and has a wide reach especially in China and other Asian countries.
Ideally most of the countries that have been on the spot light citing that these MNCs are corrupting their cultures and taking advantage of their markets have a skewed view of the impact. The point behind MNCs coming to these countries is so that they can get cheaper and available labor and at the same time benefit from the availability of raw materials. In return, they look towards boosting the economy in the developing countries along with offering better paying jobs, better working environment and transfer of technology for social growth.
