Think about examples from the past or from your organization where the employees had great benefits and describe what the work environment was like, compared to some of the examples where organizations are not doing much in these areas and perhaps are even reducing benefits or compensation. In addition, I want you to consider the significant part that healthcare costs play and some of the major issues employees and employers have to deal with in this area. Employee compensation is the new way of motivating workers to do their best. The compensation comes in form of money or a job promotion for those that want to enhance their careers.
Google Company in Mountain view CA offers its employees a stimulating environment to create and work with. In addition to this they also offer comprehensive incentives, nonconventional benefits and great financial and moral incentives. Google offers competitive salaries to its employees depending on their work performance. For example, a junior member could get a compensation of$10,000 in stock while another gets $1,000,000 in stock. The employees are provided with lunch and dinner at their offices. They also receive oil changes and carwashes, massages and yoga, playrooms, child care assistance and an annual tuition reimbursement of $12,000. Lastly, Google provides career development initiative to their employees and insurance on the health and wellness of their employees. Google employees are very motivated, enthusiastic and deliver high quality jobs (MIMS, 2015). Working for a worldwide brand like Timberland offers new and innovative employee benefits. The company encourages its workers to enjoy life outside of work by offering them generous time-off benefits, therefore, making the workers enjoy their work and be motivated and driven to deliver quality work. The employees of Timberland have a 40 hour paid volunteer work every year. They also get annual bonuses on Timberland apparel, accessories and even footwear. The employees also get parenting days off and good health insurance cover (Cohen, 2009).
The Wall Street report of 2016 ranked some companies that had little to no employee job satisfaction and compensation. Among the companies listed were Dillard and Forever 21.
