Ideally, they should be a mid-level employee with at least 5 years of experience.
Email or call them and:
Identify the link between you / how you found them State why you are writing Give your professional summary or pitch Indicate how and when you would like to connect.
Research the industry.
Research the organization.
Research the person you are meeting with.
Prepare questions.
Rehearse your pitch outlining your professional background & accomplishments.
Examples of questions:
How did this type of work interest you and how did you get started?
How did you get your job? What jobs and experiences have led you to your present position?
Can you suggest some ways a student could obtain this necessary experience?
What things did you do before you entered this occupation?
What are the most important satisfactions and challenges connected with your occupation?
