Team composition
The team consists of Asian male, Australian female and Australian male members. The three members collaborate and exchange information, but at the moment we have to decide on the team leader, but rather the roles and expectations of each member. There ought to focus on team responsibilities and reinforcing team behaviours to improve performance (Miner, 2015). In the team, there are two males and one female, but the Australian male and female share similar worldviews because of their cultures, but the female puts more effort and is receptive to changes. On the other hand, the Asian male member is patient and takes more time to make decisions.
The Asian male avoids confrontations and has raised concerns about the use high-pressure tactics to meet certain deadlines, but he is also keen on building trust. The Australian female is easy going communicates more than the other two members and insists in direct and explicit communication. She has also advocated for shared decision making since the members are equal, while the Australian male is competitive and seeks rewards for performance, but also seeks issues to be resolved fast.
The Australian male and female share more similarities based on their cultures as they seek clarity on role expectations while the Asian male requests more information. Furthermore, the Australian male has indicated he wants to be the team leader, but his work attitude is poor as he is slow to acknowledge the perspectives of others and giving suggestions, as he mostly focuses on the relevance of what others have said.
