Given the highly competitive and globalized business environment that Emerald City veterinary services operate in, it is crucial to design innovative strategies to beat the mega rivalry from the already established businesses. A valuable and unique strategy comprises a sequence of activities that ensure that the company conducts its business differently. Competition in the business environment is increasing and becoming more unpredictable, particularly due to internationalization, globalization, and digitization market dynamics. Emerald City must design innovative business strategies, including the hit-and-run (or rather guerrilla warfare) and preemptive strike offensive strategies. This paper discusses the meaning of guerilla warfare and preemptive strike offensive strategies and the circumstances under which either of these would likely be most effective.
Meaning of Guerilla Warfare and Preemptive Strike Offensive Strategies
Guerrilla warfare offensives are aggressive and highly targeted business campaigns to create a memorable and unexpected connection between an enterprise and its customers. It is a unique marketing approach where marketers employ out-of-box and unconventional tactics to promote their services and products. The term “guerrilla market” has its origins in Guerrilla warfare, where combat groups applied unpredictable techniques to win the fighting. In this vein, guerrilla warfare business strategy implies that the corporate leaders and marketers use normal marketing techniques to get the audience’s attention. In guerrilla warfare strategies, there is no pre-meditated corporate or marketing method. The Emerald City corporate leaders are expected to adopt any unconventional approach to grab the attention of existing and prospective customers (Zaidi, 2020). The company leadership should also ensure that the strategy surprises the target audience and presents them with the service or product least expected.
