Understanding the complex interrelationship within organizations is essential for any leader. It allows him to strategically create a suitable environment and policies that would maximize the specific circumstances that his organization face. In this article, the author would like to focus on analyzing organizational behavior in Sawitri et al.'s (2021) article entitled Linking Leaders' Political Skill and Ethical Leadership to Organizational Citizenship Behavior: The Roles of Self-efficacy, Respect, and Leader-member Exchange. Specifically, this includes the authors' findings regarding the relationship between ethical and practical leadership and organizational behavior.
Effective Leadership and Organizational Behavior
Effective leadership is defined by the capability to guide others, and In the study conducted by Sawitri et al., the authors noted how different aspects such as political leadership transforms into effective leadership and ultimately affect organizational behavior. This indirect yet significant relationship between one another was one of the main points that were covered in the study.
One of the main points discussed was that a leader's political skills positively affected his ethical leadership, which positively impacted the organization. On the one hand, political skill is defined as the leader's capability of understanding the workplace, the people around him, as well as the complex interaction between both and utilizing it to the organization's advantage.
