Introduction
Amazon is an American company that started off by selling books to its customers. Founded in 1994, it grew over time and developed into selling more goods than just books. The range of commodities increased and this led to them being one of the largest online retail stores on earth. It has also been listed as one of the Fortune 500 companies (Forero, 2003). Growth in all its departments has led to the effectual hiring of various talents which keep it running till now (Forero, 2003). Being an online site, it is available all over the world thus it has a wide customer base. It has fulfilled the needs of many and continues to do so every day (Gefen, 2003). This paper sets out to analyze the comparison between Amazon’s mission statement with the scripture found in Proverbs chapter 16 verse 3 and whether the mission aligns with Christianity.

Amazon’s mission is to be the earth’s most consumer centric company. They have strategized to do so by providing a wide category of goods and making them available to customers for the lowest possible prices (Forero, 2003). So far they command a large share of the online marketing goods sector and have many customers. Proverbs chapter 16 verse 3 talks about committing our works unto the Lord. By doing so our thoughts shall be established. According to the Bible in this scripture, this is what it takes to have an established business.
Amazon is already established and very successful at the moment. The company executives have surely followed the word from the scripture so as to become established and successful. This is a principle that must be followed as shown in the Bible. It takes a lot of a person’s efforts to follow the Bible’s principles (Longenecker, 2004). One way of committing one’s work to God is by constantly giving tithe to the church and also giving towards helping the poor (Longenecker, 2004).
Ways of Committing Our Works to God
Another way of committing our works to God is by taking care of the environment. Amazon is an online store and it has garnered praise for gong green through this process. By selling goods online they are not highly involved in selling goods on land thus helping to conserve the environment (Longenecker, 2004). In this process they also help to conserve various resources such as fuel. They also do not pollute the environment in any way. The development of these ideas was not ordinary in any case. They must have come from divine thinking and that is not normal for the average human mind. These methods of conducting business require high level thinking and this only comes as a result of realizing our talents (Longenecker, 2004). The talents originate from God who created us. Therefore by dedicating their works to God, the Amazon executives became knowledgeable of their talents to help them establish their business further.
