The school must be a place where children acquire positive behaviors and values, academic knowledge, and life skills; however, if the teachers do not know how to teach these qualities, the children will not learn them. Therefore, the teachers need specific training to help impart the concepts to the students. Semih Tumen, Michael Vlassopoulus, and Jackline Wahba’s journal article entitled “Training teachers for diversity awareness: Impact on school attendance of refugee children” reveals that diversity awareness is an essential concept that students must learn and that teachers need to do their part in teaching the idea to the students.
