Operating in North America, the Toronto-Dominion Bank is a company that has three main segments, including the Canadian Retail, the U. S Retail, and Wholesale Banking. Recently the bank has not been doing badly off in terms of revenue collected over the past several quarters, even as the globe faces the harsh economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This text attempts to explore the current situation of Toronto-Dominion Bank while paying attention to the current financial performance and current strategies the bank is applying. Through proper research, I have come up with a short synopsis of TD Bank.
Business Lines
With its headquarters in Toronto, Canada, the Toronto-Dominion Bank, together with its sections, is referred to collectively as TD Bank Group. It has three key business lines that enable the company to offer a wide variety of financial products and services to millions of their customers that are estimated to be around 26 million worldwide. The three business lines include the Canadian Retail, the U. S Retail and Wholesale Banking (TD Bank Group, n. d.). The first section is the Canadian Retail, which deals with Canadian customers with personal and commercial accounts and wealth and insurance businesses (TD Bank Group, n. d.). On the other hand, the U.S Retail entails banking operations under TD Bank in the United States, including personal, business, and wealth management. TD Bank is among the ten largest banks in the United States that serves approximately 9.5 million customers with an extended range of banking products and services through its well-located branches. Wholesale Banking includes TD Securities, which provides high-quality products and services on capital markets to governments, corporations, and various other institutions. Their clients are provided with excellent professional advice and services such as new debt underwriting and allocation and other equality issues (TD Bank Group, n. d.). These securities also offer strategic acquisition advice and perform day-to-day requirements in investments and trading activities.
