Most people aspire to work in an environment where they do not get bored of what they are doing, and as a result, the employer gets the best out of them. Working in an environment where there is a little bit of fun enables people to build meaningful and healthy relationships while working with others. Meaningful work brings out the essence of life in someone. That is, one is more likely to be happy if there is meaning in what they do. A job can only be meaningful and fun if it serves the purpose that one is seeking to accomplish (Brusseau, 2011).
There exist a connection between fun and the meaningfulness of work. Meaningful work can be said to have the ability to evoke happy emotions as one continues to have fun in the course of work. One of the major core values of work that is in line with fun is the concept of comfortability. Leisure time as one of the criteria for classifying work can also be defined as the time with which one uses for enjoyment and fun. Having a job that is fun satisfies the value of being able to have leisure time in a work environment. Working as an investigative journalist in the fashion industry, as the blogger describes, requires one to be his or her own boss without the interference of others, thus eliciting some form of comfortability.
