Executive Summary
This paper describes my personal communication and development plan. My communication strengths include dealing with others, dealing with my own feelings, oral communication and visual communication whereas my communication weakness is audience analysis and strategy. The communication leadership roles that I would like to play in future at my organization are to develop external communication strategies, manage reputation, communicate with the news media and deal with a communication crisis situation. I have specific short-term and long-term goals specified. The barriers to achieve these goals are lack of planning and lack of support.
Introduction
Personal development is essentially a lasting process. It is a way for an individual to evaluate their qualities and skills, set goals and consider their aims in life so as to achieve and make the most of their potential. In this paper, a self-assessment of my leadership communication capabilities is provided. My leadership communication goals are determined and a plan for achieving my goals is developed.

Strengths discussion: what I consider as my main communication strengths are those that I gave a score of 4 and 5. These include social media and other written communication, areas where I have excellent abilities and I have achieved leadership communication level. They also include the following areas: dealing with others, dealing with my own feelings, oral communication and visual communication, where I have very good abilities and is actually close to leadership communication level.
Weakness discussion: what I consider as my major communication weaknesses include those areas and capabilities that I assigned a score of 1 and 2. These include audience analysis and strategy in which some work is needed and external communication and ethos/image where a lot of work is needed.
Leadership communication roles: the main leadership communication roles that I currently play in my organization are follows: talking in small and large groups, delivering an impromptu presentation, answering questions, creating presentation slides and visuals, selecting and designing effective charts. Others are creating meaningful and effective text layouts, organization my written communication, using social media in professional settings, and writing formal documents and reports. Equally important, I ask people how they feel, establish communication protocols with supervisors, give appreciation and praise to supervisors and peers, mentor and coach other people, solicit feedback from other people, and provide constructive feedback to groups or individuals.
Part 2: Determining own leadership communication goals
There are a number of communication leadership roles that I would like to play in future at my organization. First and foremost, I wish to develop external communication strategies, manage reputation of the company I am working at, communicate with the news media, analyze the external stakeholders, and deal with a communication crisis situation.
