One is the no action restoration, which involves abandoning an ecosystem such as an agricultural field and letting it restore by itself. The second approach is rehabilitation, where a productive ecosystem with different species replaces the degraded ecosystem. The third is the partial restoration, which focuses on specific species and functions of the ecosystems, guaranteed to survive. Fourth is complete restoration, which involves the restoration of an entire ecosystem to its original state (Primack & Sher, 2016. Pp. 340-341). Question 2 In restoration ecology, a reference site is paramount as it guides the restoration process by being the primary goal it should achieve. It acts as a guide for the restoration initiative to tell the difference between the restoration project and the typical ecological environment. Also, it helps determine whether a restoration initiative is successful by establishing whether the restoration, in the end, was similar to the reference site (Primack & Sher, 2016. Pp. 339).
