Following technological advancements, film evolved from the silent era to the sound era of movies. These technological advancements also led to the ability to shoot high-quality colored pictures instead of the low-quality black-and-white themed films in the silent era. The film Singin' in the Rain and the reading of Steven Cohan's (2000) "Case Study: Interpreting Singin' in the Rain" address the transition from the silent era to the sound era films. This paper analyzes the film Singin' in the Rain and Steven Cohan's "Case Study: Interpreting Singin' in the Rain" reading.
