Response Paper - The Purpose Of The Communism

Essay Instructions:

The primary source you should respond directly to this week is the manifesto written by the Egyptian Surrealist group "Art and Freedom" (Art et Liberté) in 1938, titled "Long Live Degenerate Art." It is located on pp. 10-11 of the attached PDF by Alex Dika Seggerman. However, you may also want to read the rest of the PDF, which gives you a timeline and background information about Egyptian Surrealism, in order to fully understand the manifesto.
For your response, please do the following:
1 - Read the manifesto "Long Live Degenerate Art" (1938).
2 - Look up one of the following Egyptian artists. A good resource is the Mathaf Encyclopedia.
Signers of the Manifesto:
Kamel el-Telmisany
Georges Henein (poet, but very well known)
Fouad Kamel
Laurent Salinas
(notably most of the signatories are NOT fine artists.... or at least fine artists with any trace on the internet)
Art and Freedom Group, didn't sign manifesto:
Mayo (Antoine Malliarakis)
Ramses Younan
Inji Eflatoun
These are from the Contemporary Art Group, which was the heir to Art and Freedom group:
Abdel Hadi el-Gazzar
Samir Rafie
Hamed Nada
**Please note, spelling/transliteration of these artists' names may vary in English, since they are originally written in the Arabic alphabet.
3 - Upload an image of one of the artist's works and give a short description of it.
4 - Answer the following question How might the artwork you chose connect to the claims made in the manifesto? Are there any obvious ways they are connected?

Due to the nature of their class, all members of the proletariat have no set ways to appropriate property. So, when they get control, they will be required to destruct the ownership of private properties, and this will lead the classes to disappear automatically. The first claim of the Manifesto is that this type of development is inevitable. Another claim is that capitalism is unstable inherently. The purpose of the communists is to promote the revolution, and they also want to promote the associations and parties that move history toward its end. According to Alexandra Dika Seggerman, the elimination of all of the social classes is not possible through official changes or governmental reforms (Seggerman, 2013). Instead, it requires a revolution that could change the fate of the world by the whole. Born in 1925, Abdel Hadi Al Gazzar was a famous Egyptian artist or painter (2011). For centuries, he has occupied a distinctive position among the painters or artists of his time. He came up with a lot of drawings and paintings that are considered the most significant emblem of the modernist movement of Egypt. One of his best works is the portrait of an Italian woman which Abdel Hadi Al Gazzar presented in the year 1960 (Vernoit, 2003). At a glimpse, this may lo...
