Essay Instructions:

In the past several years, museums have moved more and more of their public engagement and educational materials online. Now that the coronavirus pandemic has closed all public gathering spaces, these digital resources are the public’s only access to the visual arts. Most museums have websites that feature digitized images and short essays about their permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. Many operate accounts on Instagram and Twitter. A few host podcasts.
The majority of these resources were designed to supplement the visitor’s museum experience, rather than replace it. How do the online platforms of museums measure up to this new challenge?
please write a 650-word comparison of two museums’ online offerings. Some examples are provided below; you may choose two from the list or add one of your own choosing.
Your response should include a clear explanation of the web-content, which strives to be objective. Your reader should understand what a person can expect from a visit to this website. Once you have provided a fair account of your two web-resources, you should answer these questions: How are they meant to add to the museum-goer’s regular experience? How do they fare independently? Does one online format offer more than the other? Can their combination offer a good substitute for a visit to the museum?

Museums are nonprofit and permanent institutions that conserve, researches, communicate, and exhibit the intangible and tangible heritage of humanity and its environment. People visit museums with different aims. There are those people who visit them to learn new things about the traditional culture while others go for research (Jonathan, 2019). There are various museums across the world, such as the National Gallery Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Globally, museums receive a high number of people each day. The Metropolitan Museum in New York gets more than 600,000 visitors each month (Villaespesa, 2017). The visits declined in the last few months due to the corona pandemic, which is affecting the world. The same case is also happening to the National Gallery Museum in London.
Fortunately, due to the emerging modern technology, these museums are supplementing the visitor's experiences by offering them various services on their online platforms such as YouTube and Instagram. The Metropolitan Museum is one of the museums that has embraced the use of technology at higher rates (Villaespesa, 2017). It uses social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to give its visitors information on the collection of different kinds of artwork. According to research, museum websites contains more than 450,000 digitalized artwork. All the artwork images and videos are provided in high-resolution power. Moreover, the audios are clear and loud to allow effective communication.
