The first thing that comes to my mind is that women are powerful and when they come together, they can run the world as they please. I believe the reading only showed a single perspective of the power that women possess. There are indeed other perspectives and positions of power that I believe women can use to make the world a better place.
What I find interesting in the day’s reading is the courage of the women. Led by Lysistrata, the women display an incredible show of courage and reason. In one instance, the women leader speaks and says the following, “let’s ground our pitchers then; if anyone attacks us they won’t get in our way” (320). Her courage as she urges the women to stand up to the men is surreal.
