People say a lot of things about art. Some say the field keeps one glued on numbers and spreadsheets every day. Others think of the field as one that involves a lot of calculations. For me, I look at it differently. I agree with those who say that accounting is synonymous with art. In art, skills set apart the best from the rest. However, what makes the most difference is creative judgment. Accounting is similar in that it also calls for highly trained individuals and also requires creative judgment. One has to be able to think on their feet and be very analytical. In every organization, accounting forms the backbone or is the cornerstone of every decision-making process. The manufacture and use of financial data are key or crucial in helping organizations diversify their business or expand into new markets. Also, financial data helps organizations decide to delay or launch any new products. It is also the work of accountants to help businesses close down any unprofitable business ventures as well as finding new ways to reduce spending. What the above means is that accountants are a great asset to any organization regardless of industry. My goal as an accountant is to help the organization I will be attached to grow and expand into other regions. My greatest desire is to be a part of a company and be among the people who take it global through new product launches and the identification of new markets.
