The resurrection of Jesus Christ is of great importance to the Christian worldview since it forms the centerpiece of the entire Gospel. Two main reasons stand out among the many reasons why the resurrection is essential for the Christian worldview.
First, the resurrection is a stamp of God’s Word, the Bible. Several verses in the Old Testament testify of the coming Christ, His life here on earth, His death, and resurrection. All through the sojourn of Christ with his disciples, despite the twelve being well-versed in the Word of God, they still did not recognize Jesus as the proclaimed Messiah of the Old Testament. The evidence of their lack of understanding is evident in Luke 24 after the Lord rose on the third day.
