The importance of communication during organizational change
Communication is one of the dominant and critical events that take place in organizations. Good communication is an important element in an organization; organizations have remained operational because of good relations among the staff and companies. Likewise, organizations carry our rigorous social and communicative protocols to recruit talents. Organizational change refers to altering key components leading to a change in a company's internal processes (Tanner & Otto, 2015). Such changes happen following a decision from the organization to improve its operations or changes within its organization. These changes may happen in closer succession.
Much organizational change has failed because of poor communication. According to Tucker et al. (2013), effective communication during organizational change is crucial because it acknowledges change. Change information should be time conscious, and employees should have information about the anticipated change to be prepared to tackle the consequences that come alongside change. In so doing, pressure due to anxiety and uncertainty goes down, and employees' trust in those who manage them increases. Successful communication leads to understanding change through a top-down approach where employees understand the management's perspective regarding implementing change. Hence, employees become less resistant to change.
