The Theory of The Color of Christ
Different theories depict Jesus Christ to be white. For example, in their book The Color of Christ, Edward Blum, and Paul Harvey portray an analogy of white Jesus. Other locations presented white supremacy and thus assumed Jesus to be white. The book explores different ways Americans gave a physical form of Jesus, how they remade the son of God, and where they placed them. Additionally, it represented the sacred symbol of their best aspirations, most profound terror, lowest actions, highest expressions, and the yearning for racial power and justice. The white Jesus' body was powerful and Holy. It was placed in high places of worship where Christians observed and respected it. The new face was highly sold, and movies made more awareness and importance of the new Jesus.
Notably, controversies about the origin of Jesus and his color exists. It is believed that Jesus was born and raised in the Middle East; thus, his color is black, yet he is portrayed to be white. Traditionally, the color white represented supremacy, might, and power. Therefore, being remade white presented control over other colors. Therefore, whiteness had its power privileges which originated in racism. However, the new image of Jesus represents the abolishment of slavery by portraying himself as the servant of God.
