Decision Theology
Decision theology is the teaching based on the notion that salvation is a personal decision. The decision theology involves the initial individual choice to follow salvation and remaining on that salvation after making the choice. In this paper, summary on the decision theology and its possibility will be discussed.
According to the book, by just acknowledging you are a sinner and accepting to repent and following Christ then you are a Christian. The book explains that this is possible through the help of the Holy Spirit. The spirit has a vast range of works for human beings. Among them is the revelation of God to human beings . For example, it reveled God to the people of Israelites through the prophets (2 Samuel 23:2). Therefore, since the Holy Spirit lives within human beings, once people decide to accept Christ the Holy Spirit automatically reveals God to them.
Moreover, there are various fruits of the Holy Spirit, one of these fruits is faith. The bible explains that people cannot have faith in Christ without the help of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3). Therefore, the decision to follow Christ is personal, while to remain being a Christian is through the help of Holy Spirit. Once people accept to repent their sins and follow Christ they welcome Holy Spirit in them.
