Psychology Online Survey Report
Which specific study did you do (give the exact title)?
I participated in a research study aimed at establishing “To what extent do different modes of thinking affect eating behavior?”
What was it like to be a participant in the study?
Participating in the study was interesting, eye-opening, and scary. It was interesting to be part of a research respondent and be empowered on the psychology of eating disorders and how various psychological aspects result in binge eating. The study was informative, as it helped me explore my thoughts, feelings, and actions and understand how they correlate with my eating habits. What were the procedures that as the participant in the study you had to complete?
To complete the study, I first had to read the information, including the confidentiality agreement. Next, I had to fill in a consent form before completing the research questionnaire. Next, I began answering various groups of questions such as my eating behavior, my levels of worry, rumination, and desire thinking. Once I answered all the questions, I received a research brief about the study and mental health supportive materials in case the study upset me.
What were the variables of interest in the study (independent, dependent variables)?
The independent variables were age, gender, height, and weight, while the dependent variables were worry, rumination and desire thinking.
Do you think there were any confounds that may influen...
