Freeman, Mark. Hindsight: The promise and peril of looking backward. Oxford University Press, 2009.
Mark Freeman contends that going backward across the landscape of the past may be a significant source of insight, understanding, and self-knowledge. Through time's distance, we may look back on previous events and perceive them as episodes in an unfolding tale. Here, hindsight may lead to insight and even truth that is only apparent in retrospect. This book is a very well organized, delicate, well-illustrated, intuitive work that helps rescue the ubiquitous phenomena of hindsight from its normally negative presentation in mainstream psychology as an undesirable cognitive deficit, and reclaim it as crucial to our development as aware, moral beings.

Many interpretations of postmodernism emphasize on its character as the result of the development of technology throughout the contemporary industrial period. The standing of science, innovation, and the crafts, the relevance of technocracy, and the manner information is regulated in the Western world are all examined in this book. the most resonating argument for me is that the ruling class has always been and will remain to be the decision-making class. It is still made up of a composite layer of business executives, high-level bureaucrats, and the heads of the main professional, industrial, political, and religious groups, rather than the conventional political class. What's new here is that the classic poles of attraction, such as nation-states, political groups, vocations, organizations, and historical traditions, are losing their appeal.
