In the health sector, socio-ecological (SE) models are becoming widely applicable in health behavior research. The successful application of SE models to the design of interventions is sometimes challenging because they must be tailor-made for each behavior and population (Elder et al., 2006). Besides, there is a need to integrate more theories into multi-level frameworks since there is a limitation to empirical research that can be crucial in the guidance of model development. Therefore, aimed at providing a comprehensive description, this paper will address the provided questions by utilizing the suggested articles. Besides, this present paper aims to describe an SE framework that can facilitate the application of multi-level ecological theories and interventions from the individual social networks to the organization and community levels to the societal and larger systems.

One of the key messages derived from the provided articles is that social workers endure various challenges in their quest to resolve some of society’s problems. The challenges emanate from the lack of a tailor-made model to help intervene and analyze human behavior. The readings contained different scenarios illustrating how social workers found it challenging to address a health hazard. Besides, the articles provided a detailed description of the demographics affected by the problem. The Trans-fat case study is a societal problem scenario requiring the ecological model’s application (Armstrong, 2020). The readings’ central message is to highlight people’s interaction with their physical and socio-cultural environments.

I agree with the reading’s main argument because it contains factual evidence from cases reported in the past. For instance, the Tran-fat case study highlights the plight social workers endured in their attempt to reduce public consumption of trans-fats in restaurants (Armstrong, 2020). Besides, I concur with the readings’ main arguments because they illustrate how the ecological model applied by the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control failed to materialize.
