In Canada, hate speech is a criminal and administrative offense. However, according to the laws, if the statements uttered are of the truth, relevant to the public, and of good faith, it cannot be termed hate speech. I agree with this mainly because every individual has the right to express themselves and reveal information that will benefit or protect others. Besides, having the best intention and protecting others is vital in a democratic government.
