Integration to Interdisciplinary Studies
It is possible to improve the world as a whole by integrating theology and economics. There are several benefits to using Christian values in the workplace. In most commercial relationships, it is critical to have a high level of trustworthiness, honesty, dependability, fairness, and loyalty. Achievement, motivation, openness, and teamwork are all significant. According to biblical principles, the integration of faith in daily engagements and activities strengthens the bond and relationship with God. The paper examines the article Theology and Economics: A Match Made in Heaven and gives insights into integrating faith and academics and related biblical principles.
The article's focus is on how theology and economics might benefit from one other in a profoundly relevant way to accomplish their respective missions. Christian religion should play a role in an economist's work and academic pursuits in some way (Ergener, 2020). A vacuum will form if Christian principles are not included in the work of economists, and other values will take precedence. The purpose of this essay is to examine with Christian researchers from various fields how religion and scholarship might be appropriately integrated with economics. As a result of Etiene Gilson's claim that theology needs economics because piety is no substitute for technique, this essay examines what steps might be made to reconcile theology and economics (Ballor, 2014).
Furthermore, Matthew 4:4 translates to saying that economics needs religion because man does not survive just on GDP per capita (Ballor, 2014). Ethics serves as a mediator between theology and economics, bringing them together. The author also discussed the connection between theology and economics combined as a science, explaining that one is a study of divine things, while the other is a study of human beings in general.
