The first thing would be to tax banks based on their capacities and transactions. This would then be followed by a look at the environment and the need to combat climate change through control of carbon emissions. To this end, there will be a need to add taxation on carbon emissions. Over the years, this percentage of national debt has been slowly rising. Magstadt (2017) even notes that it hit its highest percentage ever, in 2008. There is therefore the need to bring such deficits to manageable levels before they get out of hand.
