Protection of the employees should be considerate of an organization’s policies. Employees should be handled according to their age, religion, not discriminated from others and given opportunities like fellow employees. This is important for an organization’s operations. Female employees at their youth stages are more productive. Pregnant women have maternity leave rights according to the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. It’s the duty of the department involved to make sure that an employee is given leave for health safety. This ensures the mother and child safety. As the HR manager, it would have been easier considering the employee health rather than terminating the employment contract. Conflict over an employee’s pregnancy at UPS The HR department should ensure that a pregnant woman has the right to have maternity leave. Pregnancy Discrimination Act provides protection for pregnant women in the workforce (Mathis, Jackson, Valentine, & Meglich, 2017). Their rights should be observed and they should receive their pay if they had submitted their request for a leave. This ensures that they are paid even when on leaves.
