Part 2: Accomplishment Statements

Accomplishments don’t have to be as large as climbing the top of Mount Everest or starting your own company. We accomplish many things that have meaning every day. For example, perhaps you organized volunteers for your school’s food drive or made an extremely profitable sale. Or, if you’re more advanced in your career, perhaps you’ve received a promotion or special recognition.

Review the Accomplishment Categories to help you identify two accomplishments from work, school, volunteering, or other activities and practice communicating them using the formats below.

Part 1: About Me: Reflection on Goals, Strengths, and Areas of Growth
Answer the following questions in your own words to capture how you see yourself in terms of values, aspirations, key qualities, goals, strengths, and areas of growth:
1 What are your values, motivations, or aspirations?
I am a highly competent individual, innovative, compassionate, and thorough. I aspire to be the best accountant in Pittsburgh and engage in humanitarian-based activities upon graduation. I also intend to graduate with the best grades from my university. I am highly motivated when I am competitive, reading books, traveling, and giving back to society.
2 What are some of your main personal, academic, and professional goals?
(Make sure to write five or more complete sentences.)
My main academic goal is to graduate from Strayer University and later pursue a master's degree in accounting. After graduation, I intend to join an accounting firm as an associate and work hard to be promoted to the professional ladder. I am passionate about numbers, pay attention to details, and am highly competitive. Notably, I am creative, highly motivated, and believe in being the best in the room. After my master's degree, I plan to further my education and later open an accountant firm serving the best companies in the United States.
3 What are some of your strength areas? Think about the top 2–3 skills you would advertise yourself, or consider what others come to you for advice.
(Make sure to write five or more complete sentences.)
My strength area is that I am attentive and pay attention to details. Also, I have excellent customer care and people skills. Notably, I am highly competitive and excellent with numbers. As a result, I see what other people miss, which has put me on edge above other individuals. Also, I am ambitious, a go-getter, and always seek new challenges to keep me on track to achieve my goals.
4 What areas would you like to grow and improve in?
(Make sure to write five or more complete sentences.)
My weakness is that I tend to pay attention to minor details, but by doing so, I tend to miss the bigger picture. However, I have made it a personal responsibility to focus on the entire picture before engaging in any project. Also, I tend to be swayed by emotions in any of my projects which I am working to improve.
