Applying The Four Functions of Management
Management is an essential tool for organizing and running an organization successfully. It helps in getting things done by different people to ensure that the organization meets its set goals and objectives (Schraeder et al., 2014). Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are some of the essential management functions that I believe can be important in my volunteer work.
Planning is key as I work as a volunteer in Non-Governmental Organization(NGO). During my time volunteering, I always come up with plans which highlight my duties, and I have also developed strategies that will help me meet the targets assigned to me by my supervisor. Planning on a timeline has helped me to know what I am working on at what time, and this has organized my work well. A plan to monitor my progress and see what I have been able to do, and make necessary adjustments if need be, has helped me achieve my goals and objectives.
