Ethical perspectives on the problem are an important consideration in this project. The goal of this question is for you to demonstrate that you have a basic understanding of the following questions, which you should answer as you think about and research your Wicked Problem:

2. Do I know enough about this topic and the ethical issues involved to propose an ethical solution?
3.Which individuals and groups have an important stake in the outcome?
4.What are the most important ethical issues to consider when researching my Wicked Problem, discussing the causes, and proposing a solution?
5. Share at least three appropriate, scholarly (peer reviewed) sources that are relevant to the ethical perspectives of your problem. For each source, write the reference in APA format and briefly share:

The following questions are useful in helping you identify the ethical issues that may be relevant in thinking through the causes and potential solutions for your Wicked Problem. Ask yourself the following questions as you answer the Challenge questions above:
Utility
Do actions taken produce the most good and do the least harm for all who are affected? What good and what harm will or may result from a proposed solution?
How would a good outcome be measured when solving an ethical dilemma? Happiness? Financial impact?
While the potential harm from a cause/solution may affect only a few people, is the harm so great that it would outweigh the good this action might bring to many others?
Rights
Does a cause/solution best respect the rights of all who have a stake?
Does a cause/solution respect the dignity of others?
If specific actions are taken, are others being treated simply as a "means to an end"?
Does the cause/solution hurt or help others in securing a minimum level of well-being?
Justice
Does this cause/solution treat people equally or proportionally? Does it give each person affected his or her due?
Might I have some prejudice or interest that might make me favor one person/culture/population over another?
Am I treating each individual/culture/population the same way, or is there a valid reason to treat people differently?
Common Good
Does this cause/solution best serve the community as a whole, not just some members? Will it be equally to everyone's advantage?
Does this cause/solution contribute to the conditions of social life that give everyone an opportunity to thrive?
How does/will a cause/solution affect the resources everyone must share, such as the environment?

1 What are the relevant facts of my problem? What facts are not known?
Social inequality surrounds issues concerning ethnicity, socioeconomic aspects, gender, and race. It creates a division between the minority and majority groups, where the former suffers from the gap between them, secondary to exploitation. The inequality also affects the liberties of the minority, such that they are treated with prejudice and discrimination (Murali & Oyebode, 2004). One example in the United States results from waging inequality between the rich and the poor. The chief executive officers (CEOs) receive 185 times greater salary than the average employee in 2009 and between genders (Stanford Center on Poverty & Inequality, 2011). Currently, arguments extend on the root causes of social inequality on whether one results from the other or vice-versa. It is not clear who is at fault on why social inequality began and why it persisted.
2 Do I know enough about this topic and the ethical issues involved to propose an ethical solution?
Yes. The ethical challenges concern religious, cultural, social, and ecological changes. These factors play a role in changing the established society of inequalities, and altering any of these will result in forced permission or prohibition to the activities of the individuals belonging to a particular religious, cultural, social, and environmental group (Komatsu, 2015).
3 Which individuals and groups have an essential stake in the outcome?
The groups that will significantly benefit from a social inequality solution are the middle-aged to the elderly population, women, persons with disabilities, and the racial minorities, including the indigenous groups (Stanford Center on Poverty & Inequality, 2011).
4 What are the most important ethical issues to consider when researching my Wicked Problem, discussing the causes, and proposing a solution?
In researching social inequality, it is essential to understand that some inequalities are justifiable and vital to society. Examples of these include income inequalities which are sometimes necessary for a prosperous economy. It reflects the hard work exerted by each individual. However, the problem comes when a significant gap exists due to the lack of genuine opportunities and systemic unfairness (Reich & Satz, 2011).
