In ‘Why inequality is bad for you -- and everyone else,’ Richard Wilkinson informs the readers about the dangers of income inequalities and social inequalities that are facing the society. In the article, the author discloses to the reader that in a society where there exist vast differences in income inequality, social problems also tend to be significant. Wilkinson notes some of the widespread societal problems include physical and mental illness, violence, low math, and literacy scores among the young people, lower levels of trust and weaker community life, poorer child well-being, more drug abuse, lower social mobility and higher rates of imprisonment and teenage birth rates.
