Reusable Rockets
Space exploration has become one of the leading activities that facilitate innovation. As geoscientists continue to explore the universe, more sophisticated technology will be necessary to enhance the reliability of the results obtained. This essay will analyze how reusable rockets are related to earth observation and communication. It will also focus on how reusable rockets are related to asteroid mining and other resource extractions.
Reusable rockets relate to the earth's observation and communication because it is a continuous process. The process requires big satellites that are sent to space using rockets. The use of non-reusable rockets will be costly in the long run due to the high frequency of launches. However, reusable rockets will be cost-effective in the long run because they can be used repeatedly to send satellites to earth's orbit. For instance, the Falcon rocket can send many satellites to space compared to those sent by the non-reusable rockets. Earth's observation and communication are important because it helps to ensure that earth is safe. Through such observations, scientists can detect any objects that are in a collision path with the earth. Without observation, it would not detect such objects, which would endanger people's lives. Therefore, the necessity to observe earth highly relates to the manufacturing of reusable rockets. Such rockets will reduce the cost of observing the earth in the long run because they can be used several times to take satellites to space.
Asteroids are believed to have some of the most valuable minerals. Therefore, exploiting such minerals is one of the main objectives of geoscientists. Given the rate at which the world's population is rising, the demand for mineral resources will continue to increase. In the future, the earth's mineral sources will become extinct. This means that geoscientists will have to explore new sources of minerals to sustain the demand. The current option for options for obtaining such minerals is exploring asteroids. The exercise is costly and requires sophisticated technology to explore (Whittaker, 2021). Among such technologies is reusable rockets. Currently, geoscientists have been using non-reusable rockets to explore asteroids. These rockets raise a concern about their safety. The non-reusable rockets use fossil fuels to power them. This means they cause air pollution as the fuels burn to propel the asteroid (Smit, Whitehead & Washington, 2018). The exploration of minerals in asteroids using non-reusable rockets will be done at the expense of polluting the environment. The main question is whether the exploration of ast...
