 "Protestants have been more likely to develop economic rationalism than Catholics (Weber, 2001)." Catholics have indicated a relatively weaker likelihood of embracing economic rationalism than Protestants. One solid reason for the observation is that Protestants are somewhat less ascetic and "unearthly" than the Catholics. Therefore, the latter is not concerned about material gain. However, such fails to fit today's facts. It reflects generalities, which are not helpful.
           "Another way of attempting to increase productivity is to lower wages or piece rates, so that workers must work harder and longer to earn the same amount as before (Weber, 2001)." Regarding the statement, the author looks into the policy that entails decreasing wages to promote productivity.
